In a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving healthy older adults, 25 mg/day for 12 months restored GH and IGF-1 profiles to levels characteristic of younger adults without significant adverse effects. Additional clinical data has explored its effects on body composition, bone mineral density, and sleep architecture. MK-677 significantly increased REM sleep duration and sleep quality in published clinical studies.
