This results in increased release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), which in turn stimulates luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion.
In a Phase II clinical trial, enclomiphene citrate produced significant increases in serum testosterone, LH, and FSH levels in men with secondary hypogonadism while preserving spermatogenesis. This represents a fundamentally different approach compared to exogenous hormonal replacement, as it stimulates the endogenous production pathway rather than suppressing it.
