What does the research say?

Cardarine (GW501516) is a selective agonist of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor delta (PPARδ). It is not a SARM: it does not bind androgen receptors. In the published literature PPARδ activation by GW501516 is described as a regulator of fatty acid oxidation in skeletal muscle, shifting the tissue's preferred energy substrate from glucose towards fatty acids in preclinical models.

The research base includes the 2008 Cell paper on PPARδ agonism and exercise physiology in animal models, human pharmacology work on lipid parameters, and mechanistic studies on PPARδ and substrate metabolism.
